The history of Sada
Sada is based on the belief that wine should be the natural expression of the place where it is produced, in total respect of the characteristics of the grapes and territorial recognition; a project oriented towards quality, with the aim of producing elegant wines, with its own style and a precise identity. Davide Sada's wine project was born in 2000 in Casale Marittimo, in an area where the view offered to the eye, from the top of the hills at an altitude of 300 meters, dominates the sea. Following a careful geological survey, the land suitable for producing high quality grapes is identified in the area between Casale Marittimo, Bibbona and Bolgheri.
The production
Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot, Montepulciano and Alicante Bouschet, for a total of sixteen hectares, are planted in clay-loam floodplains. The consistency of the soil and the particularly temperate microclimate allow a complete and docile maturation of the grapes. The intense light and the sea breeze, present both during the day and at night, favor a particularly dry climate.
In the hills, in the most prized area of the Bolgheri DOC, one hectare of sapling vineyard is planted, with Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes, surrounded by ancient olive trees. On the hills of Casale Marittimo, on clay and sandstone soils, eight hectares of Vermentino have been planted, a project linked to the taste and passion of Countess Cristiana Durini of Monza, Davide's wife.
