Experience description
In the heart of the famous Chianti hills with breathtaking views, just 18 km from Florence, Fattoria Lavacchio practices organic and biodynamic agriculture throughout the estate.
By visiting the vineyards and olive grove, you will learn how the farm takes care of the grapes and olives and its experience as organic and biodynamic agriculture, with the production of high quality extra virgin olive oil and sulphite-free wines.
You will visit the only windmill in Tuscany, designed by the famous Leonardo Da Vinci, renovated to produce the flour of the farm, which gives the unique sensation of going back to 2 centuries ago. Then you will explore the ancient cellars and discover the special requirements and techniques used by Fattoria Lavacchio to create its products, which are called "perfect organic".
After the tour, you can taste four wines, including two reds without sulphites, a Super Tuscan and a Vin Santo Riserva, along with three types of oil produced by Fattoria Lavacchio accompanied by a mixed cutting board of hams and salami from the farm, local pecorino and homemade sourdough bread.

Nearby places to visit
Mugello: a few kilometers north of Florence, the Mugello looks like a large green valley crossed by a stretch of the Sieve river, one of the largest tributaries of the Arno, the main river in Tuscany. The area is characterized by the richness of the nature of the territory and the variety of the landscape, which sees alternating flat areas, hilly stretches and mountain areas, with a lot of Medici villages and residences to be discovered.
