Experience description

We are in the heart of the famous Chianti hills with breathtaking views, just 18 km from Florence and Fattoria Lavacchio practices organic and biodynamic agriculture throughout the estate. By visiting the vineyards and olive grove, you will learn how the farm takes care of the grapes and olives and its experience as organic and biodynamic agriculture, with the production of high quality extra virgin olive oil and sulphite-free wines.

An excellent opportunity to discover the delights of Tuscan gastronomy, to amaze yourself and your loved ones on every occasion. You will begin with a visit to our organic garden with an introduction on the selected seasonal ingredients, then move on to the kitchen where you will learn the secrets of Tuscan cuisine that our chef will reveal to you.

You will prepare a good first course of fresh pasta with stone-ground flours, followed by a second dish with seasonal organic vegetables, and finally a dessert. You will taste it all accompanied by our organic wines.

Curiosities

  • In the park of the manor house there is a centuries-old cedar of Lebanon over 250 years old, which has become the symbol of the farm.
  • Here is the only windmill operating in Italy, renovated to produce organic flour, a unique feeling of a return to the past of over 2 centuries.

Nearby places to visit

Mugello: a few kilometers north of Florence, the Mugello looks like a large green valley crossed by a stretch of the Sieve river, one of the largest tributaries of the Arno, the main river in Tuscany. The area is characterized by the richness of the nature of the territory and the variety of the landscape, which sees alternating flat areas, hilly stretches and mountain areas, with a lot of Medici villages and residences to be discovered.
