History
A place that has been abandoned for more than 20 years, found and reinvented. A village with 4 buildings, each structure with its own character but all 4 with a single vision. The project "sees" wine, oil, events and widespread hospitality, with a strong characterization of art combined with the rural world.
Our territory is devoted to the cultivation of olive trees, but does not have a terroir known for wine. Our challenge is to produce right here, in an unfamiliar land, a wine that tells Querciamatta and we have welcomed it with the heart.
The entire project intends to have a strong connotation of sustainability, starting from organic farming, to fully respect the environment that surrounds us, as close as possible to the traditional system but with an innovative spirit.
Production
The present: Sangiovese with which we made our first two wines, rosè and red.
The future: Cabernet Franc, Fogliatonda and a new Sangiovese clone with which we will have a lot of fun!
For our oil, 4 hectares of olive groves, we cultivate Frantoio and Leccino varieties, Moraiolo in the highest and most stony areas. 2019 was our first year: "Anno Zero" is the name of our organic extra virgin olive oil.
Curiosities
- Querciamatta is located in an area little known for wine suhj as Monsummano Terme, an absolute novelty for the wine sector
