Experience description
Once inhabited by the Etruscans, Camigliano is a medieval village not far from Montalcino, still boasting its historic Castle. In 1957, Walter Ghezzi, an entrepreneur from Milan who was passionate about Tuscany, purchased the estate. Today, the company is led by his son Gualtiero with the help of his wife Laura and their daughters Silvia and Isabella, paying a great attention to organic production.
The wine tour includes a visit to the village of Camigliano where you will fully immerse in history. The tasting includes 3 wines and will take place in the ancient cellar built in the suggestive basement of the castle.

Curiosities
- The camel is the symbol of Camigliano, originally found in a seal dating back to the 13th century. This was perhaps due to the influence of the papacy in the area, and it is probably linked to the Crusades who reached the holy land.
Nearby places to visit
- Montalcino: the village of Brunello, one of the most evocative medieval cities in the Val d’Orcia. The town is made up of narrow and steep streets, full of museums, cathedrals and abbeys, with a unique view once you reach the top. In 2004, Montalcino was recognized as a World Heritage Site.
- Abbazia di Sant’Antimo: Located near Montalcino, this is one of the most beautiful Romanesque churches in Tuscany and among the most beautiful ones in Italy. It is said that the origin of the abbey dates back to era of Charlemagne. Sant’Antimo is a magical place where you can still listen to the suggestive Gregorian chants.
