Curiosities
- The vineyards are divided into multiple parcels in the area of Caggiole and Gracciano, the heart of the company. The soils are different: at Caggiole they are tufaceous, light and produce elegant, non-tannic and fragrant wines; in Gracciano, however, the soils are more clayey, producing more powerful, slightly tannic wines that can be refined in the cellar if using the suitable wood.
Nearby places to visit
- Pienza: It is probably the most renowned and most important artistic centre of the whole Val d'Orcia. It is not far from the Cassia state road and from the other two important towns of the valley, San Quirico d'Orcia and Castiglione d'Orcia. In 1996, the historic centre was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
- Montepulciano: Montepulciano has a long history, dating back to the 4th century b.c. This is a unique village boasting elegant Renaissance palaces, ancient churches, splendid squares and small hidden corners, from which you can enjoy a fabulous view over the Val d'Orcia and the Val di Chiana.
