Experience description
The origins of Villa Saletta date back to 980 AD, date of the first written report on the estate's wine production. It belonged to four illustrious families, including the Riccardi, a wealthy Florentine family of bankers from the powerful Medici family, who transformed Villa Saletta into a real rural business during the 16th and 17th centuries. Nowadays it combines traditional Tuscan techniques and modern technology, while maintaining a strong and constant link with the estate's heritage, cultivating Sangiovese, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot grapes.
After an introduction on the history of the Medieval Village of Villa Saletta and on the revival of agricultural activities thanks to the careful selection of quality, you will visit the new winery, to then taste a sparkling wine Rosé Metodo Classico and a Chianti red wine, accompanied by extra virgin olive oil of its own production with Tuscan bread, crackers and breadsticks.
